Safe Place for Youth (SPY) is seeking an Interim Education and Employment Specialist to provide education and employment services to youth at-risk of, or currently experiencing homelessness. The role involves developing individualized education and employment case plans, providing direct education and employment services, and marketing job and internship openings. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in a social service setting with youth, preferably in an educator or employment services environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years experience in social service setting with youth desirable
- Minimum of 2 year experience in an educator or employment services environment
- 1-2 years of experience with client engagement
- 1-2 years of experience leading workshops in job readiness, employment education, filling our resumes and cover letters
- 1-2 years of experience working in homeless services
- 1-2 years of experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Strong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets and other software systems
- Ability to coordinate and/or oversee the successful completion of projects
- Experience working with homeless and at-risk youth
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including organizational, detail, and interpersonal
- Must have reliable transportation, valid California driver’s license and proof of current insurance
