The Phlebotomist / Lab Assistant performs duties typically expected of a Phlebotomist, including drawing blood from normal human volunteers, preparing specimens for the Normal Blood Donor Service (NBDS) department and monitoring vital signs. Performs clerical and/or administrative support duties for identifying, screening and scheduling donors and coordinates payment to said donors.
Requirements
- Licensure as a certified State of California Phlebotomist, CPTI or CPTII required. If not, RN / LVN.
- 1 or more years of phlebotomy experience required.
- One year of clinical laboratory experience working in a high-volume lab preferred.
- Current CPR and AED certification required.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to relate well to NBDS donors and staff.
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Databases.
- Customer service skills and a positive attitude
