Internship Data Engineer

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer Intern at SurplusMap, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our data pipelines and infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with our engineering and data science teams to help maintain efficient and scalable data architectures.

What You Will Do

Collaborate with engineering and data science teams to design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, implement and optimize data storage solutions, work with DBT and Dataform, and ensure data integrity and security.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Google Cloud products (especially BigQuery)
• Hands-on experience with SQL for querying large datasets
• Familiarity with DBT, Dataform, or similar tools for data transformations
• Basic knowledge of Python for scripting and automation
• Exposure to Terraform for infrastructure-as-code is a plus
• Understanding of data pipeline design, optimization, and ETL processes
• Interest in AI, geospatial data, and green energy technologies
