The Technical Financial Accountant role ensures compliance with accounting standards, manages complex technical accounting issues, and supports accurate financial reporting. The role involves interpreting IFRS/GAAP requirements, preparing statutory accounts, and advising on accounting treatments for transactions and new standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional: ACA/ACCA qualified (Big 4 or top-tier audit experience preferred)
- 10+ years in technical accounting or audit, including group reporting and consolidation
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of IFRS /FRS102. Experience with complex accounting areas (leases, revenue, financial instruments, consolidations)
- Systems: ERP systems (Dynamics, SAP) and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written communication for technical papers
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Controls & Compliance: Maintain strong internal controls and ensure SOX or equivalent compliance. Oversee audit processes and liaise with external auditors. Ensure adherence to tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
