Job Description
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for billing, collections, follow-ups, and appeals of insurance claims. This role involves managing insurance carrier follow-ups, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely payment of outstanding balances. The specialist needs to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for both insurance companies and the managed care network.
Requirements
- Claim submission
- Work assigned claim volume
- Actively follow-up on outstanding patient account balances
- Research, appeal, and resolve unpaid insurance claims
- Monitor and reconcile reimbursement from managed care networks
- Provide information for billing, coding, and managed care networks
- Experience in interpreting EOBs
- Strong communications skills
- Experience with commercial payers (UHC, Cigna, etc.)
