Radiology Technologist Student - Main Diagnostic Radiology - Part Time - Varies

Assists licensed and registered technologist in their duties to perform routine radiographs as allowed by law to facilitate the flow of patients and create an efficient working environment.

Requirements

• Assist credentialed technologist in their duties to perform studies per physician order
• Greet patients and guests in an appropriate manner
• Identify correct patient and procedure
• Obtain appropriate information from patients
• Transport patients from ER exam room or waiting room to department
• Assist patient on and off the table
• Help technologist position patient on the table for the exam
• Move x-ray equipment to assist technologist
• Demonstrate competency prior to performing studies with indirect supervision
• Track completed exams in the Radiology Information Computer System
• Check the open orders list before the end of their shift
• Keep assigned work areas neat, clean and well stocked
• Protect the safety of all patients, guests and employees
• Adhere to all policies related to regulatory agency requirements
• Perform front desk operations as well as computer systems
• Schedule all exams done through the whole department
• Use the centralize transport program for patient transport
• Documenting times and noting additional comments
• Look up pertinent information in the computer systems
• Answer phones and directs calls
• Call to the floor or ER to obtain additional information
• Assist in the imaging library with tasks such as burn images to a CD
• Transport in-house patients
• Report any problems to a manager
• Access to patient records in course of normal operations
