The Doe Fund is seeking a Mental Health Counselor for the Villa residence, a permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The Mental Health Counselor will provide supportive case management services to residents and work with the HIV/AIDS population.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field required
- License in Clinical Social Work (LCSW) is preferred
- At least one year of experience working with people who are homeless, living with HIV/AIDS, have substance abuse histories, or suffer from mental illness
- At least 5 years of experience in the mental health field
- Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) certification is a plus
- Knowledge of benefits in the New York City Metro area, HIV/AIDS, psychiatric diagnoses, substance abuse, and mental health issues
- Solid computer skills – internet, Microsoft Office, and charting database
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Spanish speaking is a plus, but not required
