School Social Worker

The school social worker will assist students with emotional/social challenges, act as a liaison between school, parents, and agencies, and mentor other social workers. They will conduct evaluations, develop IEPs, conduct functional behavior assessments, provide training, and collaborate with school teams. The role requires crisis response, referral consultation, and community outreach.

Requirements

• Masters in social work and licensure/certification
• Two or more years’ successful school social work experience
• Skill in individual and group assessment and treatment techniques
• Ability to formulate eligibility recommendations
• Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
• Knowledge of positive behavior intervention strategies
• Knowledge of social skills
• Knowledge of community resources
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Ability to work effectively as a team member
