The Resource Exchange (TRE) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit case‑management agency founded in 1964 that serves more than 12,000 individuals with developmental, mental‑health, and long‑term care needs across El Paso, Pueblo, Teller, and Park counties in southern Colorado. TRE’s core services include early intervention, comprehensive case management, respite care, behavioral and physical therapies, and family‑support programs such as parenting classes and playgroups, all delivered through a person‑centered model that empowers choices and promotes independence. Leveraging a network of over 200 community partners, TRE coordinates care, facilitates Medicaid waivers, and connects clients to specialized resources—including autism, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and pediatric professionals—to enhance quality of life and community inclusion. Guided by values of respect, integrity, partnership, excellence, and accountability, TRE distinguishes itself by integrating multidisciplinary services, fostering collaborative relationships, and relying on both public funding and community investment to sustain high‑quality support for its diverse population.
