Recreation Therapist II (RPT 0.2 FTE)

Plan, implement and coordinate therapeutic recreation programs for the Schizophrenia program under the direction of the Manager, Patient Care Services. Develop goals, objectives, policies and procedures for recreation and leisure services based on client needs and best practices.

Requirements

• University degree in Recreation/Leisure Studies or a post-grad Therapeutic Recreation diploma
• Experience working with clients who suffer from a severe mental illness
• Knowledge of the impact of diagnosis on leisure functioning
• Ability to design and lead client centered, evidence based recreation therapy and leisure programs
• Experience conducting assessments, developing and evaluating therapeutic programs, documenting outcomes, and developing community connections
• Experience working in a Community setting is an asset
• Membership in Therapeutic Recreation Ontario is an asset and eligible for registration
• Class F license is an asset
• English level A- in oral expression, oral comprehension, reading and writing is mandatory. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset.
