The Health Unit Technician provides clerical support and manages the flow of information in the Emergency Department. The role involves documenting and relaying radio communication, collaborating with ancillary departments, and coordinating treatments.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Familiar with Patient Information Database (Cerner)
- Typing skills of at least 60 words per minute
- Demonstrate a proficient understanding of medical terminology
- Current CPR Certification (preferred)
- National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) (preferred)
- Completion of a Medical Secretary or a Health Unit Coordinator Program (preferred)
