Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to direct, manage, and assist with projects performed by external contractors and department construction crews. The successful candidate will have experience in civil engineering principles and practices, and possess a valid driver's license and certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training.
Requirements
- 1-3 years experience in a related field
- Current valid driver's license
- Certification as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training
- Knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD) principles
- Knowledge of transportation design principles
- Knowledge of relevant state and local regulations
- Knowledge of research, data analysis and report preparation methods
- Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
- Skill in problem solving, prioritizing and planning
- Skill in interpersonal relations
- Skill in directing the work of personnel
- Skill in oral and written communication
