Job Description
We are looking for an Intermediate Terrestrial Ecologist to join our ecology team in Thunder Bay, Ontario. As an Intermediate Terrestrial Ecologist, you will lead and support terrestrial field programs, apply terrestrial ecology expertise to compile, analyze, and interpret field data, and contribute to environmental approvals and regulatory deliverables.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in environmental consulting or applied terrestrial ecology
- A degree in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with proven advanced field skills in wildlife, vegetation, or SAR survey methodologies
- Applied knowledge or training in Ecological Land Classification (ELC) and/or Ontario Wetland Evaluation System (OWES)
- Comfort working outdoorsâincluding remote settings, variable conditions, and non-standard hours when required
- Familiarity with Ontario environmental legislation, permitting pathways, and applied ecological reporting standards
- Valid Ontario driverâs licence and access to a vehicle; ATV/UTV/snowmobile training is an asset
- A mindset driven by curiosity, initiative, scientific rigor, and a deep commitment to safe field practices
