WSP USA is seeking a Senior Consultant, Ports and Marine Civil/Structural Engineering to join our National Maritime Practice Group. This position can be based out of multiple locations in the US, including Irvine, CA, San Diego, CA, San Francisco, CA, Miami, FL, Seattle, WA, Portland, OR, and Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering discipline with demonstration of marine project-specific design experience. They will be responsible for providing engineering support to other technical staff, engineers, and project managers for the development, design, construction, and or inspection of structures and facilities for port, marine, and intermodal rail terminal projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from ABET accredited program
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering discipline with demonstration of marine project-specific design experience
- EIT or similar certification/licensure
- Demonstrated ability in analysis and design of marine related projects
- Proficiency in SAP2000 and/or equivalent commercially available finite element software
- Design and detailing of reinforced and prestressed concrete and steel components per ACI, AISC, PCI, and/or AASHTO
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD and REVIT and other related BIM tools
- Demonstrated construction experience in ports and marine related projects
- Demonstrated understanding of multidisciplinary team coordination, compilation of design and construction documents, and domestic/international agency design standards and practices
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in technical report writing
- Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
