WSP is seeking a Technical Project Manager to join our Washington transportation team. This position can be based out of our Tacoma, WA or Seattle, WA offices. The job involves high-level technical project leadership, guidance, and management of administrative, commercial, and technical components of assigned projects or portfolios of projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related major, or equivalent experience in a technical or engineering firm.
- Essential project management certification (e.g., PMP, CAP-M).
- 10+ years of relevant post-education experience with project management of roadway/highway/site development/transit design within Transportation industry.
- A minimum of 5+ years' project management experience on transportation infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with Sound Transit, WSDOT, and City of Seattle engineering practices.
- Proficient understanding of project delivery process within the A/E/C industry and strong background and experience in project management.
- Highly proficient analytical and organizational skills, with business acumen to bridge the business and project management.
- Highly proficient with critical thinking and problem-solving skills to make assessments and calculations involving the application of project management principles, with a sound understanding of intent, impact, and optimal outcomes.
- Highly proficient interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively, persuasively, and tactfully with leadership, subcontractors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and adjusting readily to the changing prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Works independently to provide guidance and leadership to mid-level to senior-level team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
- Proficiency with technical writing, office automation, relevant software, MS Office suite products (e.g., Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint), technology, spreadsheets, and PM tools.
- Experienced with providing critical review for documents and preparing project deliverables and plans with a high degree of complexity.
- Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating resources and assertively directing consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and others to consistently complete tasks competently and efficiently.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical work week.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
