Senior Staff Software Development Engineer (Rust)

Zscaler is seeking a Senior Staff Software Development Engineer to join their Client Connector team. This role involves developing high-performance networking code in Rust for desktop platforms, improving code quality, and contributing to customer-impacting features. The position is based in San Jose, CA and offers hybrid work flexibility.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related fields
• Deep expertise in Rust programming language and familiarity with lower-level languages like C/C++
• Strong knowledge of system and network programming, including firewalls, VPN’s, protocols, TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, QUIC, H/3, proxies, etc.
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills in both networking and system-level contexts
