Staff Software Engineer - Java/Agentic AI

Zscaler is looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to join their ZDX Engineering team in Bangalore, India. The role involves designing and developing the ZDX data platform using an AI-first approach, building large-scale distributed systems, and solving complex business problems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on software developer with experience in Java, Springboot, and distributed infrastructure, and has a proven track record of designing and shipping end-to-end applications at scale.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in Java, Springboot, preferably in data-intensive environments
• Experience in working with Redis Cache, partitioning-aware query patterns, writing complex, high-performance queries for large-scale analytics platforms (Azure Data Explorer (ADX/Kusto), Google BigQuery)
• Proven experience building and operating LLM or agent-based systems, including multi agent orchestration, agent to agent communications, state management and autonomous decision making agent workflows
• Deep expertise with Distributed infrastructure, and Public Cloud Platform such as Azure, GCP and AWS
• Treats AI as a force multiplier — using it across requirements, design, coding, testing, and reviews to consistently raise the bar
