Senior AI Engineer

We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our new AI team within Engineering, tasked with driving AI adoption across 1GLOBAL. You will design and build 1GLOBAL's internal AI platform, evaluate and operate large language models, and establish engineering standards for the AI function.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on AI/ML systems in production
• Hands-on experience building RAG pipelines, working with vector databases, and integrating LLMs into backend services
• Strong backend engineering skills: API design, microservices, production operations at scale. Proficiency in Python expected
• Practical experience with LLM fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and evaluation methodologies
• Comfortable with CI/CD, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code
• Familiarity with data security practices (PII handling, access controls, data classification)
• Experience in regulated environments (financial services, telecommunications, ISO 27001) is an advantage
• Telecommunications domain knowledge is a plus but not required
• Strong communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders. Fluent in English
• Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity
