Job Description
The Senior Planning Officer will be responsible for processing and determining complex planning applications, providing support and guidance to planning officers, and representing the Council at appeal. They will also provide general advice to the public, members, and developers on planning and enforcement processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Town Planning or related subject
- Membership of the RTPI
- Good knowledge of planning, enforcement, planning policy, case law, and relevant legislation
- Ability to provide detailed advice across a range of planning issues
- Good negotiation skills
- Working under pressure and to strict deadlines
- Prioritizing, organizing, and planning own and others fluctuating workloads
- Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders clearly and proactively
- Adaptation and responding to change
- Ability to use influence and persuasion to achieve objectives
- Thoughtful judgement to manage complex service delivery
- Flexible approach to the working day
