Job Description
The Educational Support Teacher (Resource Teacher) role is to support class teachers and children with developmental concerns/special needs in implementing educational programming within an inclusive learning environment.
Requirements
- Assess children's case information from SSNET system
- Conduct baseline assessments to formulate Individualised Education Plan (IEP)
- Support class teachers by demonstrating intervention strategies
- Document children's progress in the IEP Progress Report
- Communicate children's progress and follow-up plans with teacher(s) and parents/caregivers
- Demonstrate good time management by managing scheduling for screening, education support and collaborating with teachers and others
- Partner families and caregivers to enhance child and family outcomes
- Work collaboratively with community stakeholders to support the implementation of programme and services
- Identify potential intervention methods, tools and assistive technology
- Uphold PCS Vision and Mission
- Follow code of ethical conduct
- Engage in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills/knowledge/attitude
- Work cooperatively with other staff members, accepts supervision and helps to promote positive atmosphere
- Attend staff meetings/training/PCS events
