The Assistant Residence Manager will provide training, supervision, and assistance to residents with ADL skills and directly participate in daily household management. This position requires a high school diploma with two years of experience working with the OPWDD population, and a valid NY State driver's license.
Requirements
- Train, supervise, and direct Residence Aides
- Provide training and assistance to residents in ADL skills and independent living skills
- Develop, coordinate, and provide opportunities for social/recreational activities
- Supervise residents at the IRA and in the community
- Provide training to residents with money management skills
- Manage resident's personal allowance
- Intervene in crisis and emergency situations
- Provide first aid
- Supervise medication administration
- Supervise diet and nutritional needs
- Provide transportation or access to transportation
- Accompany residents to medical appointments
- Clean the IRA and contents
- Act as a role model to residents and staff
- Perform fire drills
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule
- Complete required documentation
- Perform documentation reviews
- Identify and report safety hazards
- Participate in investigations
- Comply with State and Federal regulations
- Obtain and maintain required training certifications
- Attend required training and staff development programs
- Report to work during inclement weather
- Travel or transfer between work locations
- Follow assigned work schedule and placement
- Assist with scheduling and staff coverage
- Be part of the Residential on-call rotation
- Maintain good interpersonal and communication skills
- Be computer literate
