The Shipping Dock Loader is responsible for loading and unloading shipments, maintaining a safe working environment, and accurately documenting shipments. The role requires flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, weekends, and on-call duties. The Shipping Dock Loader reports directly to the Assistant Shipping Manager or the Shipping Manager.
Requirements
- Practice proper PPE compliance and maintain a safe working record and environment
- Practice proper forklift operation and preventive maintenance
- Immediately communicate unsafe conditions, acts or injuries to Production or Yard Supervisor
- Maintain and build job skills through company training programs
- Assist with Preventive Maintenance program as required
- Conduct visual product quality inspections
- Load the correct products on outbound shipments with accuracy and in a timely manner
- Unload products on inbound shipments in a timely manner
- Accurately document all shipments and receipts and report any discrepancy
- Help on monthly cycle counts held on the last Saturday of each month
- The ability to process customer shipments including UPS shipments
- Continually expand product knowledge
- Follow the direction of the shipping manager
