Intern - Firmware Engineer - Summer 2026

Advanced Energy is seeking Firmware / Software Design Engineering Interns and Co-Ops to support development activities across its North American design sites. Interns will work with an experienced engineering team to develop high-performance, precision, efficient, and cost-effective power conversion, metrology, or controls solutions.

Requirements

• Programming ability in high level languages such as Python, HDL, C, C++, and/or assembly languages in embedded environment
• Working knowledge of microcontrollers, field-programmable gate arrays, hardware circuit theory, and/or software development tools
• Ability to work in a lab environment debugging firmware, software, or embedded systems, and evaluating product spec compliance
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to meet schedule requirements and define priorities without direct supervision
