Advanced Energy is seeking a Lead Electrical / Power Electronics Engineer to serve as a technical authority for advanced high-voltage, high-power power electronics systems used in semiconductor and industrial applications. This role is focused on system architecture, platform strategy, and complex problem solving across multiple products.
Requirements
- Define system-level architectures for high-voltage, high-power, digitally controlled switch-mode power supplies
- Lead design trade-offs across topology, control strategy, magnetics, insulation, and thermal design
- Establish best practices and design standards for power electronics and high-voltage systems across product lines
- Develop and validate advanced simulation models for complex power systems, including plasma and highly dynamic loads
- Guide digital power control strategies, working with firmware and control teams on stability, performance, and robustness
- Provide deep technical expertise in root-cause analysis of complex electrical, control, and reliability issues
- Provide technical oversight for multiple products or platforms from concept through production and field deployment
- Partner with product management, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure scalable and manufacturable designs
- Lead technical risk assessment and ensure compliance with applicable safety, EMC, and regulatory standards
- Act as a senior technical interface with key customers, suppliers, and partners on system-level challenges
- Influence technology roadmaps and long-term platform strategies in collaboration with engineering leadership
- Mentor senior and junior engineers, raising the technical bar across the organization
- Lead design and architecture reviews, providing clear technical direction without direct people management
