Job Description
Performs maternal and newborn breastfeeding assessments on daily rounds. Provides inpatient/outpatient consultations as needed. Educates mothers and families to initiate and maintain lactation, overcome obstacles, prevent premature weaning and enhance maternal role satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Lactation Education or Lactation Consultant certification
- International Board of Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certification
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification
