Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the management and organization of production, engineering, and/or Government materials. They monitor inventory levels, track inventory movements, implement inventory control procedures, conduct audits, and ensure accurate record-keeping. The role requires strong leadership skills to motivate and supervise a team of inventory control staff.
Requirements
- Developing and implementing strategies to optimize inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs
- Managing and maintaining inventory management systems to accurately track inventory movements, adjustments, and discrepancies
- Conducting regular audits and reconciliations to ensure physical inventory matches records in the inventory management system
- Providing guidance and training to inventory control staff, ensuring they adhere to best practices and company policies
- Generating reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management to facilitate decision-making
- Identifying potential risks related to inventory management, such as stock shortages or excess inventory, and developing strategies to mitigate these risks
- Collaborating with other departments such as procurement, production, planning, and logistics, at a minimum, to ensure seamless coordination of inventory-related activities across the organization
