Senior Accountant

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Accountant with experience in public company accounting and a strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance landscape in the defense and aerospace sector. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, the integrity of internal controls, and compliance with government accounting requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS).

Requirements

• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Support payroll accounting, including journal entries and related reconciliations
• Supports preparation of monthly financial package and reviews for accuracy
• Actively participates in monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close process
• Supports internal and external auditors' requests and inquiries
• Performs ad- hoc analysis as needed using various reports and statements
• Works cross-functionally with other departments to resolve discrepancies in account balances
• Performs necessary functions to ensure compliance with SOX and Internal Controls over relevant processes
• Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports
• Identify and implement process improvements and internal controls to increase efficiency and accuracy
• Other duties as assigned
