Requirements
- Perform startups, periodic operations checks, equipment inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and/or preventive maintenance services on wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment/components at customer sites
- Represent STS in professional and courteous manner following all STS and customer safety requirements
- Install, configure, calibrate, and maintain control, measurement, and indicating instrumentation and probes
- Perform process calculations required for the proper operation of equipment
- Read/understand equipment diagrams, checklists, engineering drawings, and other process documentation
- Complete job-related reports, expense reports, and forms in a timely fashion
- Perform repairs on wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and components
- Add process chemicals, such as potassium permanganate, hydrogen peroxide, caustic, acid, chlorine, polymer, and coagulant
- Clean service area of the equipment
- Identify and take corrective action on process upsets
- Assist with mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of process equipment, valves, and structures at treatment plants
- Analyze and correct communication issues
- Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications
- Basic knowledge of PLC and VFD programming
- Skilled in the use of a microscope to identify micro-organisms
- Communicate with customers to discuss job requirements, provide recommendations and service options
- Manage effective field service scheduling and reporting
- Assist engineering in plant design, modifications, and hazard analysis
- Conduct customer training on customer wastewater treatment systems and associated equipment and components
- Observe all Federal, State and County safety rules, regulations, and procedures
