Job Description
Affirm is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Streaming Infrastructure) to join their team. The role involves designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin. The team works with technologies like Kafka, Flink, Spark, and Confluent Platform. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale, and expertise in stream processing frameworks like Spark, Samza, Flink, or Beam.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
- Expertise with at least one stream processing frameworks like Spark, Samza, Flink, or Beam
- Experience with Confluent Platform (Schema Registry, Tableflow)
- Experience with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Defining a technical plan for the delivery of a significant feature or system component with an elegant, simple, and extensible design
- Writing high-quality code that is easily understood and used by others
- Making significant changes in a large code base
- Taking ownership of growth and proactively seeking feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
