Software Engineer II, Backend (AI Agents)

Affirm is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the AI Agents engineering team. The team works with an omnichannel AI agent vendor to provide a conversational first point of contact for customers. The Software Engineer II will break down larger projects into individual tasks, deliver them in multiple phases, and collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of their work.

Requirements

• 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Experience shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks like React or Vue
• Experience designing, developing and launching APIs at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Ability to navigate a large code base, debug others' code, and provide feedback through code reviews
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
