After School Matters provides life-changing after-school and summer programs for nearly 19,000 Chicago high school teens through hands-on apprenticeships and internships in arts, communications, leadership, sports, and STEM. The organization's full-time staff and volunteer instructors support teens' skill development, college preparation, and workforce readiness while advocating for youth development and sharing best practices in out-of-school time education.

High school diploma or GED, 2+ years experience teaching MMA or related martial arts, proven experience working with teens or in youth development programs

Bachelor's degree in relevant content area, 0-10 years of experience, and commitment to diversity and inclusion
General Instructor
Bachelor’s degree, experience working in relevant field, classroom management experience, intermediate computer skills
Lutz Leadership Council Instructor
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; demonstrated expertise in leadership and civic engagement; strong facilitation and public speaking skills
Intro to Construction Trades Instructor
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or completion of a trades apprenticeship, experience in Carpentry, and teaching experience are required
Dance Instructor
Associates or Bachelor's degree, content area expertise in performing art, CPR Certification, and teaching experience
Welding Instructor
Associates Degree in a related vocational program, Applied Science in Welding Technology, or Applied Industrial Technology; experience working in a field relevant to the content area and teaching teenagers
