After School Matters provides life-changing after-school and summer programs for nearly 19,000 Chicago high school teens through hands-on apprenticeships and internships in arts, communications, leadership, sports, and STEM. The organization's full-time staff and volunteer instructors support teens' skill development, college preparation, and workforce readiness while advocating for youth development and sharing best practices in out-of-school time education.

Basketball Instructor
Experience coaching basketball, high school diploma or GED, and commitment to diversity and inclusion
General Instructor
Bachelor’s degree, experience working in relevant field, classroom management experience, intermediate computer skills
Dance Instructor
Associates or Bachelor's degree, content area expertise in performing art, CPR Certification, and teaching experience
Lutz Leadership Council Instructor
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline; demonstrated expertise in leadership and civic engagement; strong facilitation and public speaking skills
Volleyball Instructor
No experience required, but preferred experience in coaching volleyball and working with youth
Yoga Instructor
Certified yoga instructor with experience teaching youth or beginners and a bachelor's degree
Policy and Advocacy Specialist
2+ years of experience in advocacy, government relations, or public affairs, Master’s degree or equivalent experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Senior Program Specialist - Special Programs
Minimum Bachelor’s degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience required
Graduate Research & Policy Fellow
Current graduate student working towards a Master's degree in social sciences with strong analytical and communication skills
Intro to Construction Trades Instructor
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or completion of a trades apprenticeship, experience in Carpentry, and teaching experience are required
