Job Description
Seeking a qualified Mechanical Engineer for a mining project on a fixed-term contract with an International Mining Company. The ideal candidate will ensure mechanical equipment and installations comply with Mine Health and Safety Act and other regulations.
Requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures related to mechanical engineering.
- Conduct or supervise regular inspections and testing of mechanical systems to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards related to mechanical equipment and operations.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure that appropriate safety measures are in place.
- Lead investigations into mechanical failures, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Oversee the design review, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical systems and equipment.
- Ensure that all new installations meet safety and operational standards.
- Ensure that all personnel are competent and aware of the latest safety practices and procedures.
