Job Description
The welder is responsible for operating equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with precision, repairing products that do not meet customer needs, and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
- Operate and/or use forklift, cranes, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting touches, hand tools, drills, punches, and instruments of measurement
- Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux
- Fill holes, cut, contour, and bevel metal plates and structural shapes
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts
- Tig & Mig Weld components using various materials
- Perform other duties as assigned
