Welder

Welders accomplish production welding aboard ship vessels and badges by applying appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, or repair parts of metal or other "weldable materials".

Requirements

• Cut and prepare parts using band saw and plasma torch
• Meet company quality, attendance, and productivity requirements
• Perform duties in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
• Operate hand grinders as needed
• Inspect work and parts fit up on an on-going basis
• Care for welding machines and company owned equipment
• Install or repair equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings
• Remove rough spots from workpiece
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
