Surgical Tech II: Operating Room, 36 hrs/week, Evenings

Surgical technologists work under the supervision of a registered nurse and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a sterile environment. They handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, and perform tasks such as instrument counts and patient positioning. This role may require on-call duties and rotating shifts. The position requires high school diploma, graduation from a surgical technology program, and 1-3 years of scrubbing experience. Familiarity with all specialty services is preferred.

Requirements

• Maintain sterile field
• Prepare operating rooms and assists with patient positioning as needed
• Inspect sterile items for contamination before opening, maintains sterility while scrubbed, maintains sterility of instruments and supplies
• Performance of accurate instrument, sponge and needle counts, following established policies and procedures
