Surgical Tech III

Surgical technologists are allied health professionals who work under the supervision of a registered nurse and a surgeon to facilitate surgical procedures. They handle instruments, supplies, and equipment, maintain the sterile field, and perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts.

Requirements

• Ability to function independently in the scrub role
• Understanding of surgical procedures and ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon
• Maintenance of sterile field and equipment
• Performance of accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts
• Assistance with patient positioning and preparation of operating rooms
