Job Description
The Design for Manufacture Engineer is responsible for ensuring mechanical designs are optimized for manufacturability, assembly, quality, cost, and producibility within an aerospace and defense environment.
Requirements
- Develop, review, and release mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications in accordance with aerospace standards
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program teams to ensure designs meet producibility, cost, schedule, and quality objectives
- Support prototype builds, first article inspections (FAI), and transition from engineering development to production
- Participate in and support Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) assessments and design reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR)
- Support supplier technical engagements, including design reviews and producibility assessments
