Compliance Auditor, Production - Hybrid

The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Production Compliance Auditor to join the Regulatory Compliance (RC) Branch. This role is part of the Production & Emissions Compliance team, focusing on routine audits, supporting complex compliance assurance activities, and verifying compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in environment, oil & gas or related field
• 8+ years of directly related experience in auditing or related oil & gas experience
• Canadian Association of Petroleum Production Accounting (CAPPA) certification is considered an asset
• Experience with controls-based and substantive audit methodologies is an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements, including Directive 076, Directive 017, and Directive 007
• Familiarity with Petrinex and its applications in volumetric reporting
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and experience with SQL queries are considered assets
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to maintain thorough documentation, track work progress, and prioritize tasks based on risk and value
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
