The Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) is seeking a Limited-Term Industrial Engineer to join their Regulatory Applications Branch. The role involves providing technical support and knowledge for reviewing environmental and process engineering information for oil and gas applications and submissions. The engineer will work in a multi-disciplinary team to ensure environmental risks and impacts are well understood and mitigated.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering
- 5+ years of related experience in process, environmental or facility engineering within the energy sector
- Registered professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or eligible for professional membership
- Ability to use strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of Alberta’s regulatory framework and associated legislation and enactments
- Critical thinking ability to think beyond the information presented and utilize a multidisciplinary approach to problem solving
- Beginner to intermediate awareness of project management principles
- Current First Aid and H2S Alive training is an asset
