Job Description
Park Caretakers are needed for the 2026 summer season at Writing-on-Stone and Cypress Hills Provincial Parks. Duties include cleaning park buildings and facilities, maintaining cleanliness in the caretaking shop, and performing minor maintenance repairs. The position requires a positive and energetic personality, customer service skills, and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Some high school education
- 6 months of directly related experience (janitorial, house-cleaning/housekeeping, custodial, caretaking)
- Current Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate
- Valid Class 5 License (or equivalent)
- 3-year Driver’s Abstract issued within 30 days of application submission, with no more than 6 demerits
- Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR Level C + AED
- CSA approved steel toe footwear
Benefits
- 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave
- 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
- Shift premium pay: $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays, $2.75 per hour for evenings
