Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our team at the Portland Aluminium Smelter. As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you will safely perform and coordinate Mechanical maintenance work, including preparation of work scopes, isolations, and completion of work activities. You will also liaise with internal and external work parties to safely complete tasks to required quality and service levels.
Requirements
- Mechanical - Fitter & Turner - Trade (Australian Apprenticeship, Tradesperson’s Rights Certificate or equivalent)
- Advanced skills and knowledge necessary to isolate, diagnose, analyse and rectify complex equipment related problems
- Problem-solving is a major component of this position and an essential skill requirement, along with good communication and interpersonal skills to provide technical advice and direction
- High levels of initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
