Job Description
Alcon seeks an IP Legal Counsel to support its Legal and Compliance team in managing intellectual property matters related to ophthalmic materials, medical devices, and manufacturing technologies. The role will involve preparing and prosecuting patent applications, conducting due diligence and freedom-to-operate assessments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Requirements
- Manage invention disclosures
- Prepare and prosecute patent applications
- Review and manage outside counsel work
- Manage legal costs and outside counsel spend
- Conduct due diligence and freedom-to-operate assessments
- Conduct strategic assessments of competitor products and IP portfolios
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Provide legal and strategic guidance to R&D and commercial stakeholders
- Assist in internal training on IP-related issues
- Provide input and advice regarding IP issues related to regulatory, marketing, and promotional materials
