Assistant Childcare Center Director

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Assistant Director to join our team at our Silver, NAC-accredited childcare and preschool center located in Canton, Ohio. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Center Director to support and lead daily operations, staff coordination, enrollment processes, compliance, and parent communication.

Requirements

• Support the Center Director with oversight of daily operations, curriculum execution, and staff coordination.
• Ensure compliance with ODJFS licensing rules, Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) standards, and center policies.
• Act as a point of contact for staff and parents in the absence of the Center Director.
• Collaborate with teachers and classroom staff to ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
• Assist with enrollment processes, tours, family onboarding, and maintaining up-to-date student and staff files.
• Aid in scheduling, substitute coverage, and time-off approvals to ensure adequate classroom coverage.
• Maintain accurate records for attendance, incident reports, and CACFP food program documentation.
• Help plan and lead staff meetings and professional development trainings.
• Monitor and support teaching staff with curriculum implementation and classroom management strategies.
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress, center events, and concerns.
• Assist with budget management, ordering supplies, and tracking center expenses as delegated by the Director.
• Step in as classroom support or substitute as needed to maintain staffing ratios.
