The Director of Policy is responsible for leading the organization's public policy portfolio, developing advocacy positions, and broad coalition-building with policy leads to advance organizational goals. They analyze legislation and court rulings, produce research briefs, and manage external relationships with coalitional partners and stakeholders in connection with policy development.
Requirements
- 10 years of experience in policy, legislative, or legal work, with a proven track record in advocacy.
- Subject Matter Expertise: democracy-related policy issues such as voting rights, election administration, civic participation, government ethics, or institutional reform with deep knowledge of federal and state election laws, procedures, and practices.
- Leadership: Strong team management and coalition-building skills.
- Communication Skills: Excellent writing and public speaking abilities with experience producing high-level policy analysis and public-facing materials.
- Education: Law degree or Master’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
