Alpha Public Schools is seeking a Dean of Students to support student culture and community on campus. The successful candidate will design and maintain systems for positive culture and community on campus, collaborate with other school leaders, staff, scholars, and parents, and provide coaching and support to teachers and students.
Requirements
- Embody the mission, vision, and core beliefs of the school and the Alpha Public Schools network.
- Collaborate with other school leaders, staff, scholars, and parents to create and uphold school-wide systems and structures.
- Support teachers and school staff in maintaining healthy and thriving environment in all campus areas and support in classrooms.
- Manage office referrals and facilitate restorative circles and mediation meetings with students, as needed.
- Manage emergency situations by responding to the scene, providing first aid, delegating tasks and assignments to faculty, and alerting emergency personnel as appropriate.
- Write and submit incident reports and communicate reports with other school leaders as appropriate.
- Build strong relationships with parents and teachers to support student relationships, accountability and performance.
- Lead project work to develop and maintain a healthy and thriving school culture.
- Co-lead the PBIS team and program implementation.
- Coordinate with other school leaders to monitor the fidelity of implementation of MTSS at the school level to include both academic and behavioral support systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate PBIS staff professional development with school leadership.
- Oversee the implementation of Sown to Grown SEL curriculum to support students in building connections and strategies that support their development
- Oversee the implementation and refinement of student leadership development systems including activities such as lessons on leadership and responsibility, student council, peer restorative justice, peer tutoring, cross-grade buddies, etc.
- Manage and oversee other culture project plans to support student culture in a collaborative way.
- Analyze and present data using our data systems (e.g,SEL, Dean’s List, survey data)
