Laboratory Technician - Food Chemistry

Role Overview

Join ALS as a Laboratory Technician in the Food & Pharmaceutical Division, working in a modern laboratory in Melbourne (Scoresby) with the latest analytical technology. This hands-on role involves preparing samples for testing, ensuring accurate results, and maintaining efficient lab operations.

What You Will Do

Process food samples for analysis, ensure samples are analyzed within holding times, weigh and check samples, complete paperwork, and review and approve other technician's results.

Requirements

• Minimum of a laboratory certificate or qualification in science
• 3 years' experience in a food testing laboratory
• 3 years' experience with food testing wet chemistry techniques and/or laboratory instrumentation
• Ability to work well in a team orientated environment
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A requirement to handle raw poultry, meat and fish in sample preparation on a daily basis
• Ability to undertake reasonable overtime as required
