Structural Integrity Discipline Lead Engineer

Take on a new challenge and apply your existing structural expertise in a new cutting-edge field. As a Structural Integrity Discipline Lead Engineer, you’ll be working on both developing state of the art products and the assessment of existing designs.

Requirements

• Degree in mechanical engineering or relevant equivalent experience
• Experience of Finite Element analysis packages, such as Hyperworks, Ansys, Patran/Nastran, Ideas, Abaqus, including both linear and non-linear assessments is essential
• Experience in structural design and analysis is required, preferably applied to Railway products
• Understanding of Structural Mechanics and the fundamentals of different Fatigue assessment methods
• Demonstrable practical experience in Mechanical Engineering outside of the role of structural mechanics, such as design, dynamics, testing is desirable
• Previous experience in using CAD packages such as CATIA, Pro Engineer is desirable
• Willingness to develop a wide range of skills and flexibility to work on variety of projects which require different engineering skills
• Ability to define and manage priorities within deadlines
• Good communication and presentation skills
• A strong team player, with effective interpersonal skills and a positive, solution-oriented attitude
• Willingness to travel to visit other Alstom sites, suppliers and customers when required
