Heavy Equipment Shop Technician

We are looking for a heavy equipment shop technician to join our team at Alta Equipment Group. The ideal candidate will have 4 years of experience in heavy equipment or OTR repair and a minimum of 2 years of power systems repair experience. Volvo Penta engine experience is highly preferred.

Requirements

• Four years of previous heavy equipment or OTR repair experience
• Minimum of 2 years of previous power systems repair experience
• Volvo Penta engine experience is highly preferred
• Previous mechanic repair experience (forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, automotive)
• Strong working knowledge of power train and generation systems
• Excellent mechanical aptitude
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good time management skills
• Ability to work after hours as needed
• Must have clean driving record and valid driver’s license to drive company vehicle
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: engine, power train, hydraulics and electrical
• Possess own tools
• A positive attitude and high energy
• Computer programs - Microsoft Outlook, Volvo VCADS
• Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
