Principal Engineer - Chassis Suspension and Steering

AM General develops and builds specialized ground vehicle systems. We are seeking a Principal Engineer - Chassis Suspension and Steering to direct and provide day-to-day engineering direction for various engineering and design programs. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 5+ years of experience in chassis suspension, steering, and related fields.

Requirements

• Directs and provides day-to-day engineering direction for various engineering and design programs
• Manages projects, estimates cost, schedule, and performance
• Provides engineering applications and acts as a liaison in engineering for and with the customer
• Ensures that product meets Federal, State, local, and military regulations
• Determines test requirements and field validation execution
• Analyzes and evaluates test results to determine acceptability or needed modifications
• Maintains contact with vendors and subcontractors
• Solicits vendor knowledge and participation in product standardization and cost reduction
• Supports the Engineering Manager in the administration of personnel policies and procedures
• Serves as acting Engineering Manager upon appointment
