Ameresco is seeking an experienced Senior Building Automation Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in controls engineering, system integration, project leadership, and technical strategy, with a strong background in DDC control systems, building automation, and IoT technologies. The role will involve leading the design, implementation, optimization, and management of advanced DDC control systems in commercial buildings, as well as providing technical leadership and guidance to the Controls Team.
Requirements
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of complex DDC control systems in commercial buildings
- Develop innovative control strategies, logic programming, and system sequencing to maximize energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and system reliability
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, technical specifications, and strategic goals
- Program, configure, and integrate DDC controllers, supervisory devices, and peripheral equipment using advanced control programming languages and tools
- Conduct detailed system inspections, performance testing, and functional verification to ensure proper system operation, functionality, and adherence to project specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex control system malfunctions or failures, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools, software, and protocols
- Optimize system performance through continuous monitoring, analysis of data trends, and implementation of system adjustments and improvements
- Collaborate with other trades and contractors to integrate DDC control systems with other building systems, including HVAC, lighting, security, and energy management systems
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to DDC controls, building automation systems, and emerging IoT technologies
- Provide strategic guidance and support to the business development team during pre-sales activities, including system demonstrations, technical proposals, and solution customization
- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed documentation of control system designs, programming logic, network configurations, and maintenance activities
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing technical inquiries, providing system demonstrations, and ensuring timely resolution of system-related problems
- Lead and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective project execution, adherence to timelines, and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive continuous improvement, evaluate new technologies, and develop best practices for controls engineering and system integration
